    Disposition:
  • Liar: For most of the game, Akechi presents himself as extremely charismatic; a most pleasant boy, polished with his words and affable by nature, armed only with logic, a charming smile and a pretty face to go with it. He claims his popularity as an Ace Detective to be both surprising and a little embarrassing, yet he’s a born natural in front of the cameras, always with a goofy joke at the ready to give it an extra boost. But it's all a mask, and in reality, Akechi is just well versed in the art of deception, having managed to fool and approach the Phantom Thieves and the Prime Minister-to-be alike, both of whom he planned to betray. By late game, Akechi has dropped the façade, becoming a mostly formal yet blunt type of person, cynical and contemptuous, though he still can and will play the role of Pleasant Boy when convenient.
  • Sharp: Though much about him is a fraud, Akechi’s brilliance is the real deal. Aside from being an honor student who will quote Hegel to a stranger, his schemes (along with his supernatural powers) allowed a mere teenager like himself to become indispensable even to an established politician; so to boost Masayoshi Shido’s popularity, Akechi became his personal hitman, using his powers to create a series of psychotic incidents and murders to eliminate any political rivals, all the while working as a triple agent, both by working with the police as a detective and later pretending to join the Thieves. Through his analytical and pragmatic approach, he’s able to break out of a world-altering illusion, and long before the perpetrator, Takuto Maruki, confesses to it, Akechi has figured he is, most likely, a product of that fabrication, and that, in reality, he will disappear as soon as Maruki is defeated.
  • Vengeful: Revenge against Shido, the father who abandoned him before he was born, is the primary reason that has led Akechi to use his supernatural powers and commit atrocities with little remorse, all under the guise of helping Shido only to later have him at Akechi’s mercy. While it motivates him, this thirst for vengeance also makes him proud, selfish, and unable to open himself up to different possibilities; even after meeting the Phantom Thieves and figuring out the mechanics behind the change of hearts, he can’t bring himself to reach out for help and change his fate, instead choosing to remain on the path towards (self) destruction.
  • Lonely: On the other hand, due to having grown up alone, Akechi is desperate for love and recognition. Whether because he never had any parental attention in his childhood or simply because he’s surrounded by them, he seems to especially value bonds with adults over those with people his own age, and even when he joins the Phantom Thieves he’s seen as the odd man out, mostly keeping his (emotional) distance. Furthermore, his craving for validation is so strong that it makes him easily manipulated; Shido even admits to having used praise to convince him to do his bidding, and as much as Akechi resents him, there’s still a part of him that longs for his father’s acceptance, distorted as it is.
  • Unstable: As a result of these contradictory driving forces, Akechi has grown to be disconnected from his true feelings, regardless of how good he is at pretending otherwise. He seeks revenge against the father who abandoned him and a society that’s biased against orphans, but wants their acknowledgment, looks down on the Phantom Thieves yet learns to have genuine fun while fighting on their side, claims to hate his only friend, but in reality, he’s just incredibly jealous, and also very fond of, Joker. His emotional instability is so great that, in a moment of manic desperation, he uses his Call of Chaos to induce psychotic rage on himself, boosting his powers at the cost of all rational thought, all for the sake of killing the Phantom Thieves, a gimmick he eventually keeps in his arsenal. Later in the game, he’s shown to act much like his berserk self in battle, thriving in the bloodshed and having genuine fun while slaying Shadows. Truly worthy of his “Crow” codename, it turns out brutally murdering the cognitive manifestation of real people’s psyche is the most alive he has felt in years.

Under pressure: Born a bastard child and later orphaned in a society that despises them, Akechi has learned how to fend for himself from a young age. Be it through his wits, his deceptively charming (fake) personality or by use of his powers, he’s managed to climb up the ranks and make a name for himself, though he’s remained isolated from real connections. Because of that, forging emotional bonds for Manna might prove difficult, but otherwise he has no reservations about physical intimacy; sex is inconsequential for someone who’s had to murder for the sake of his plans. He may not be much of a team player, but he can truly cooperate with others in a pinch.

Bottom line is, no matter the goal – to survive, to exact revenge, to reclaim agency over his future – Goro Akechi is an obstinate force of nature, and he’ll stop at nothing to see them through.

Condition upon arrival: Healthy for a (possibly) dead man!

    Abilities:
As a Persona user, Akechi can summon entities that exist as embodiments of human aspects, and have them assist him in battle with various physical attacks and elemental magic. He is also a Wildcard, one of the select few who can summon more than one Persona, though in the game he's only seen with two: Robin Hood and Loki.

    Robin Hood’s current moveset is:
    • Kougaon: deals Heavy Bless damage to 1 foe.
    • Eigaon: deals Heavy Curse damage to 1 foe.
    • Megaton Raid: deals Severe Physical damage to 1 foe; it takes 16% of Akechi's HP as recoil
    • Megidolaon: deals Severe Almighty damage to all foes.
    • Charge: the next physical attack will inflict 2.5x damage.
    • Fortify Spirit: lowers susceptibilities to all ailments
    • Attack Master: automatically raises the user’s attack (Tarukaja) at start of battle.
    • Samarecarm: Revives 1 ally with maximum HP.

    Loki uses the following moves:
    • Fortify Spirit: reduces susceptibility to all ailments.
    • Laevateinn: deals Colossal Physical damage to 1 foe; if used as a boss fight, it deals Heavy Almighty damage to the protagonist after staring at him in the previous turn.
    • Megidolaon: deals Severe Almighty damage to all foes.
    • Debilitate: decreases Attack/Defense/Agility of 1 foe for 3 turns.
    • Riot Gun: deals Severe Gun damage to all foes.
    • Eigaon: deals Heavy Curse damage to one foes.
    • Attack Master: Automatic Tarukaja at the start of battle.
    • Evade Bless: triples evasion rate against (non instant death) Bless attacks.

Inventory: The clothes on his back, attaché case, and a toy sword and pistol that only work once he’s shifted into his Metaverse outfit.

    Gembond: Ruby
Gem Location: The nape of his neck
