[ He can't help but huff a small laugh, both at Akira's romantic notions and the easy way with which Akechi can string him along. It's all very cute. ]

I don't see why we can't do both. For... tradition's sake.

[ (It's not just about that. Akechi actually really enjoy that unspoken rivalry between them.)

Still, for now it seems the two of them share the same line of thought, so he leans in to press the side of his face to Akira's, with maybe just a bit of (scandalous!) nuzzling. ]

But, I wouldn't mind starting with something more romantic, as you say.

[He chuckles.] We'll save the dance off for later, then.

[He lets Akechi nuzzle, reaching up one hand to card through his hair a few times. After a moment longer of swaying, he tilts his head into Akechi's and kisses his cheek.

He doesn't say anything now, just breathing, with the occasional sigh of contentment, as they dance. Akira is a silent person by nature - if Akechi wants to talk, he's welcome to, but for now, Akira would rather drink in the moment, just the two of them together.]

[ For once, Akechi is glad to comply with Akira's quiet ways. There isn't really any need for words as they slow dance, anyway; all they need is to enjoy the moment and each other's company.

So he slides in closer with his arms around his boyfriend, and lets their bodies follow the flow of the music, no rehearsed steps or a planned rhythm. The kind of freedom and easiness he can only feel with Akira.

... of course, he's still Akechi, so he can't be silent for too long. There's always a lot he wants to say. ]

This is... very different from last year, isn't it?

[ And he drops a little kiss on Akira's shoulder to reinforce his point. A subtle gesture, but intimate all the same, and incredibly fond. ]

Mmm... we still weren't all that used to each other yet.

[Maybe a subtle reference to their sakura date. But Akira doesn't want to dwell on sad things, so he doesn't mention anything further.]

It's amazing... what a year can do...

[They're so comfortable with each other now. It's dramatic, and yet, it feels right.]

[ Alas, the reference doesn't escape Akechi's perception. In all honesty, and even though things have stayed mostly the same between them after their talk under the cherry blossoms, he can't help but worry Akira will change his mind about their relationship, that their trust has been irreparably broken...

But, he doesn't want to seem like the type who needs constant reassurance, so instead he does what he's best at: bottling it all up, pushing those fears to the back of his mind and playing it like he's fine.

(He does, however, also have his trust in Akira on his side. That makes the burden considerably lighter, and his pressing insecurities, less suffocating.) ]

Well, we were still closer than we used to be, back home.

[ This could be a sad or optimistic truth, depending on perspective. For now, Akechi is going with the latter. ]

In fact-- [ A giggle. ] We were close enough for you to shamelessly flirt with me, if I recall correctly.

[He's glad too, that they seem to have smoothed things over, for now at least. He has a feeling that it's not all over, that more strife could be on the horizon... but for now, he's content like this.

He grins at Akechi's comment, and his hand ventures lower, giving Akechi's butt a playful (and seductive) squeeze.]

What can I say? I know how to get what I want.

[The hand is staying where it is.]

[ Akechi only squints in a subtle reprimand, though he doesn't otherwise draw attention to Akira's adventurous hand-- in a very public venue, too! The nerve! ]

Oh? Allow me to get this straight...

[ Because, of course, as much as he isn't about to make a scene - in all honesty, he rather enjoys the... attention - that doesn't mean he's not going to give Akira a hard time. ]

You didn't trust me-- [ But this much is said in a light tone, matter-of-factly instead of fixated. ] --you weren't close to me, and yet you wanted me? Is that what you're saying?

[Ah, he's been trapped in a verbal entanglement. But that's okay - he can get himself out of this.]

Well...

[He raises his hand to the small of Akechi's back, only so he can twirl suddenly, and then dip him back, holding his other hand in his.]

I could still recognize a hot piece of tail when I saw it.

[ If Akira is trying to go for seduction as distraction, it's not working-- or at least for as long as Akechi can stay focused, anyway. He's not about to let Akira get away with it so easily!

(Perhaps this, too, is a competition in its own right. They just can't help it.) ]

A hot piece of tail, is it? [ He hooks an eyebrow, but otherwise doesn't make so much as a move to hoist himself back up. ] Should I take it to mean you're the player type?

[For as long as Akechi can stay focused, is it? Challenged accepted.

He shakes his head, leaning in closer, the grin on his face wicked and dangerous.]

I believe in quality over quantity.

[ Bring it on!

Once again, Akechi doesn't seem to be in any hurry to move, a suspicious eyebrow quirking higher as the only real reaction he offers. But that's only for another moment. ]

Is that so? Then, tell me...

[ Said as he presses a hand to Akira's chest and (gently) pushes him away, just so he can pull himself back to his full height, but definitely not breaking away from his dance partner. ]

Is this enough quality to make up for your lacking numbers?

Hmm... I'd say you're about halfway there.

[Said with a small grin as he tightens up his dance posture and starts to move a big more quickly in time with the music.]

But I want you to reveal all of yourself to me.

[ This time, Akechi can't hold back a scoff, though it doesn't bear any ill feelings; if anything, he's mostly amused, and it shows in the smile that follows. Only halfway there, huh? Is Akira really that insatiable? ]

All of myself? Does that mean you'll leave me if this is all I have to offer you?

[ Well. He definitely has some more to reveal, but he doesn't think that would make Akira any more endeared to him. Quite the contrary. ]

Of course not.

[Despite the teasing banter they have going, that much is sincere, open and honest. Akira wouldn't leave Akechi now, and anyway, "this" is quite a lot on offer.

But then he gets his smirk back.]

But I think you'll have plenty more to offer me, later tonight.

[ And that actually gets Akechi laughing, just as open and free, a lot less composed than he's ever been. ]

Is that all you ever think about?

[ But it's not really reprimanding-- it could never be, when it makes him feel so wanted. So, as means to both encourage and tease him, Akechi moves closer in tandem with the music, one hand sliding down to Akira's hips. ]

But, I suppose I still have a trick or two up my sleeve.

[ And then, much like Akira usually does to him, he goes for the butt squeeze. ]

[Why, sir! A butt squeeze!? In public!? How scandalous!

Akira makes an appropriately scandalized face... or he would, if he were capable of that much visible emotion. Instead he just looks a bit surprised.]

And here I thought you were a classy guy.

[And now his surprise turns back into a smirk, and he encourages the hand with a little wiggle.]

Guess this is one more side of you.

[ Akechi wants to laugh again at that comment, but instead he only return the smirk with an amused grin of his own. It's true, his pleasant facade is all about manners and propriety, but the real him isn't naturally like that. Maybe he's been slipping off, in his time with Akira, showing him a little bit more of himself every time.

With all due encouragement, Akechi keeps his hand just where it is, casual, and idly fondling. ]

As long as it's a side you enjoy, I can make an effort to indulge you.

[ That's all that matters to him, effort or not. ]

Oh, I enjoy this side a lot.

[He grins, in a way that is slightly lecherous but appropriate, given the situation. He definitely wouldn't mind seeing this side of Akechi again and again.

But he knows there's more to him in there - more than maybe even Akechi believes. He just has to pull each side out, over time.]

Indulge away.

In that case, I will.

[ As he says that with a smile to match, he lets his hand slip again, moving from Akira's ass and sliding underneath his shirt, touching the skin of his back. More intimate, and maybe a little less scandalous-- if that's where he intends to keep it. ]

That does make me curious, though. Which other sides exactly are you hoping to see?

[Oh, he likes that a lot - he leans into it a bit, to encourage further touching. He doesn't care if others can see.]

I want to see all sides of you. I am a Phantom Thief, remember?

[He leans in closer, presses a soft kiss to Akechi's neck.]

I want to know all of you.

All of me, huh...?

[ Another chuckle escapes, along with a shake of his head. Even though Akechi has shared a small portion of his less than perfect facade, and as much as he trusts Akira and feels so comfortable with him that it's almost like he could tell him anything... there's a lot about him that he doesn't feel ready to share. At least not yet.

That doesn't mean he can't indulge his boyfriend some more, though. ]

What if I tell you-- [ He leans closer so to whisper in Akira's ear. ] --that I can be rather... possessive?

[ As though to drive his point home, Akechi's hand lowers again, grabbing on to Akira's waist and giving it a squeeze, forceful, but not so hard it would hurt him... much. With some luck, he'd leave a red mark, stake a fading claim on him-- and hope he can one day make it permanent. ]

[Akira can't help it: a pleasured gasp slips out of his lips, quiet enough not to be heard by anyone else but certainly audible to Akechi. He isn't sure why, but feeling that harsh grip on his waist, that promise of possession, ignites something in him.

It's not fear, though. It's almost like a feeling of safety. If he belongs to Goro, Goro will care for him always.

It's also really hot. He likes it.]

What if I said... I like being possessed?

[ The reaction he elicits is enough to put a smile on Akechi's face, but to actually hear that kind of admission from Akira? It's... quite the surprise, considering his Joker side.

Then again, isn't Akechi much the same way? The pleasant mask he wears as a high school detective, and his real, twisted personality that runs rampant in the Metaverse, and sometimes even slips through the cracks in their times of intimacy? ]

In that case, I would say we are perfectly matched.

[ And indeed, they are. Maybe in more ways than either of them has realized. ]

Ah, but-- [ A chuckle. ] This is all hypothetically speaking, of course.

[ As innocent as his smile may seem, he digs his nails into Akira's skin again, lets them wander across his side, leaving faint scratch marks underneath his shirt. A secret way to communicate lewd intentions. ]

Hypothetically... right.

[He doesn't say anything more after that, because it's hard to keep the hitch out of his voice with every scratch mark. He wants more. He wants so much more, but he can't ask for it here.

He glances around, then starts to try and dance Akechi toward the edge of the clearing for the party. Time to get out of here.]

[ Alas, he isn't planning to go anywhere, not when he's just getting started toying with Akira. So instead of following his lead, Akechi sinks his nails a little deeper into skin uses that as leverage to pull himself even closer; to any onlookers, it seems like little more than a young couple holding each other, a chaste display of their affections. ]

Oh? We're not leaving the ball so soon, are we? Caramia-san and the others put so much effort into it, they would be disappointed to see us go this early...

[ All said as one of his hands moves yet again, sliding all the way up to Akira's chest and resting on a nipple. His thumb reaches out for idle stroking, a touch that is as teasing as it is gentle... for now. ]
