[ And just as arranged, Akechi shows up by the well a few moments later, bringing himself and... little else, really. He had promised to help, but he hadn't really had the time or the peace of mind to go looking for sewing supplies since his last talk with Minato, but as long as that has been taken care of, he'll actually have something to contribute. ]

Hello again, Arisato-kun. [ A small wave and a smile in greeting as he approaches the other. ] I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long.

[Just bring yourself, Akechi, that's all Minato needed. Minato's got everything else; he has a little box with his sewing stuff that he's collected here, and some old clothing under his other arm; when he sees Akechi, he lifts his free hand in return.]

Good to see you, Akechi-san. [Seriously, seeing him in person and alive helps a lot after everything he heard.]

Hm, I'm glad to see you, as well. [ A nod, followed by his usual smile. It's true, meeting in person like this feels more appropriate, after all that dealing with a mother hen over text. ]

And I see you came well prepared! [ He leans sideways a little, peeking at all the materials Minato had seemingly assembled. How determined! ] It's always good to see someone so dedicated to their projects, no matter how small.

Well... it'd be kind of embarrassing to ask you over and not have what we need, right?

I'd rather give it my all once I've decided to do something, at least.

[ Uhh, maybe Minato wanted them to go look for the stuff they need together? Blah blah hanging out, blah blah social link and all that?? ]

Yes, I'm the same way. [ But usually his projects involve revenge and self-sabotage, so, you know. This is probably the healthiest option. ] Once I seriously dedicate myself to any task, I accept nothing but my very best.

[ A friendly wink, and then: ] But, sewing was but a matter of necessity to me, so you will have to excuse me for not knowing what each stitch is called.

Regardless, here's a needle and a spool of thread; you can keep them for yourself. They're not hard to scrounge up in some of these houses, and it's good to have on hand.

Hmm, thank you. [ He accepts the proffered materials with an easy smile, running a finger along the needle. It's a little rusty, but as long as they don't prick themselves, this should do-- no tetanus shots available in this place! ] I assume you at least know how to thread a needle?

Of course. I was part of the sewing club back in school. I'm pretty decent at it.

The gardens feel a lot less oppressive somehow, even without color. [Than the walls of colorless buildings.]

[ He puts away the needle and spool of thread in his chest pocket and makes a move to leave the area, though he does make sure to wait for Minato to catch up. And, in the meantime: ]

Ah, but-- a sewing club, really? [ A little unusual for a guy, but there's no real judgement in his tone. If anything, he's curious. ] You didn't mention anything about that before. I don't think my meager skills can compare.

[It's definitely unusual for a guy, but Minato doesn't mind; he's gotten the judgement before, so Akechi's curious tone is kind of refreshing.]

Mm, a...friend of mine was in it, so I decided to join him.

But most of the work we did was with sewing machines, so don't go assuming I'm an amazing seamster just yet.

Ah, that may be true, but as a member of a sewing club, that means you must have the basics down. That will make my task a lot easier-- and this project more successful, too.

I just grabbed all of this out of the basement where I'm living.

[ Akechi offers a small laugh at Minato's initial response, then takes a closer look at the bundle of fabric. ]

Really? That was rather fortunate, to have found it all in a single place! [ WELL. As fortunate as it gets, probably, to find a bunch of moldy, colorless fabric... ] I thought we would have to scavenge quite a bit for materials, so I was pleasantly surprised when you told me you had it all readily available.

I wasn't sure how interested you would be in poking around damp cellars and musty closets in search of clothing and fabric, but I guess you're more willing than I thought... let's do that next time.

[He's teasing, if very gently.]

Or, we could leave that up to any new members we can recruit. That kind of task is usually handled by the rookies, correct?
