He who seeks information is the one who should do the necessary legwork to obtain it. Otherwise, you can leave with your little tail between your legs.
His reasoning is something only he could tell you about. All I know is that we had a chance meeting a while ago, and he seemed to be under the impression I wanted to harm him.
In his head, I suppose that might have been called self-defense, though I didn't attack him first.
I'd understand well enough why he'd think you'd want to hurt him...
What I don't understand is your complete lack of interest in doing anything to harm him. Have you lost your nerve, now we're in another world, and the police aren't on your side? Or is there another reason?
[ ... this crazy man talk again, huh? Akira had said something similar, like he completely disregarded Akechi's sacrifice - and how counterproductive it would be to attempt against their lives now, when he was counting on them to carry on in his stead. ]
Are you all really so shortsighted? What would I even have to gain from harming you now?
I don't understand what you had to gain from assassinating him to begin with. If we're shortsighted, it's because you've done nothing to explain your reasons for betraying us, have you?
I'm not lying. If you're suggesting you've met us at some other time since then, it would have to be under some clever disguise, because we certainly have not. You may ask Akira yourself, if my word alone isn't enough.
You were here before, but you behaved as though you had no knowledge of who Akira and I were.
Either you were lying for some bizarre reason to try to get us to lower our guards, or you were from the past. I'm beginning to assume it's the latter, because now you've returned, there are other things that simply don't add up.
[ ... so people have been pulled from different points in their own timelines? Huh. That... might explain a few things. ]
If that is true, then it would explain why neither of you seem to remember our last meeting the way I do. But on the other hand, it doesn't make sense that I wouldn't remember having been here, either.
Apparently it happens fairly often, that people return home and arrive once more with no recollection of ever being here. If Ann or Futaba ever return, I would not be surprised if they were affected in the same way.
So, what is this last meeting we had? If it happened between all of us, surely you can tell us what transpired.
Of course he's my priority. What I'm trying to establish is what your intentions are towards him, and from what you've hinted, it would seem your last meeting with us is indicative of that.
If you do or do not want to tell me, I would appreciate a direct answer either way, so I can at least know where we stand with you.
[ Yusuke are you asking him if he intends to marry Akira after deflowring him ]
I will tell you what you need to know, and that is that I have no intention to harm either of you. I won't even try to stop whatever it is you have been doing with your powers in this place. As long as you stay out of my hair, I will do the same.
[ Yusuke, you make it sound like they are a pair of toddlers who need to have their toys taken and go play in separate sandboxes... ]
In that case, I don't foresee any more interventions. I hardly think you would have bothered to come this far if you had known the fight was mostly one-sided.
( that typing indicator lasts maybe just... a few seconds too long for comfort. until finally— ) Have you seen Sorrow's latest message? We'd like to hear your thoughts.
We'd like to make a decision as a group. Ultimately, whether you'd like to be part of that is your choice. But, should you accept, we would consider your opinion when casting our vote.
Our end goals may be the same, but is that enough to accept me into the group? You do remember what I did do the Phantom Thieves once, don't you?
[ WELL. Maybe more than once, but it looks like they don't remember that much. Still, to Akechi at least, the offer isn't entirely new; they did something very similar to this before, right after he tried to kill them all.
He still doesn't get it. But maybe they do mean it...? ]
I remember someone who worked tirelessly towards their goal. ( sure that goal was to bring the phantom thieves down, maybe even to kill him but... yusuke was handling the hard truths of that. ) That's still you, isn't it?
But I'm not sure that's an answer exactly, so I'll ask again: would it be so bad to work with us? We can... call it a truce.
[ Heh. Of course he didn't expect complete trust, but in order to work as a team, some level of trust is necessary-- and that's what makes him so unsure this can ever work out. There's just too much standing between them, too much damage Akechi has caused-- and his one redeemable action seems to have been forgotten. Or could it be that it never happened at all for them...?
Well. He might have to investigate that later, but, for now-- ]
In that case, I believe the second planet would be our best choice. It seems to have more stable weather and mild temperatures, unlike a frozen wasteland where we all might perish before the Null even have the chance to find and strike us. It provides good cover to hide from the Null, as well.
Besides, the greatest adversity there seems to be the wildlife. But, considering our abilities, that should be nothing we can't deal with.
I understand where your sensibilities lie, but you shouldn't let your artistic inclinations cloud your judgement. I would rather not rely on a god's whim to keep us alive- or worse, to bring us back, if things turned out the way I imagine.
[ He's already been through that once, okay, that was enough. ]
Akechi has a point, and further to that, the god's abilities to bring is back has been... wavering lately, at best. It would be better to rely on our own skills and strengths to pull us through...
Besides, didn't you also think the jungle-like world would have its own appeal, Yusuke? ( he wants to make sure his pal's aesthetic-al needs are met too, THE POWER OF THE CONFIDANT... )
The fact that that world may provide a lot of natural cover would probably lend itself well to our usual methods.
From my understanding, these gods can be destroyed, and they even go so far as needing our help in order to restore themselves, correct? That is all the more reason for us to rely on our own strengths only.

[brief and to the point. hi, akechi]

That is quite the broad question, all things considered. You might have to be more specific than that.

Akira's been behaving strangely. He mentioned he did something to hurt you. Why is that?
no subject
In his head, I suppose that might have been called self-defense, though I didn't attack him first.
[ Not... that particular time, anyway. ]
no subject
What I don't understand is your complete lack of interest in doing anything to harm him. Have you lost your nerve, now we're in another world, and the police aren't on your side? Or is there another reason?
no subject
Are you all really so shortsighted? What would I even have to gain from harming you now?
no subject
no subject
What are you talking about? Have you already forgotten the last time I met all of you?
no subject
If you're referring to the last time you were here in Hadriel, I haven't forgotten that, either.
no subject
I didn't peg you for the trickster type, Kitagawa, and I don't believe I was wrong about that assumption. So what do you have to gain from these lies?
no subject
no subject
[ Another reasonable assumption, since why else would he contact Akechi, right? ]
So I suppose I'll have to ask you: what is this about me having been here before?
no subject
Either you were lying for some bizarre reason to try to get us to lower our guards, or you were from the past. I'm beginning to assume it's the latter, because now you've returned, there are other things that simply don't add up.
[hence... this entire conversation, really]

If that is true, then it would explain why neither of you seem to remember our last meeting the way I do. But on the other hand, it doesn't make sense that I wouldn't remember having been here, either.
no subject
So, what is this last meeting we had? If it happened between all of us, surely you can tell us what transpired.
no subject
[ ... and, well. He could tell Yusuke about it, but. ]
Either way, I thought you wanted to know about Akira? Shouldn't that be your priority?
no subject
If you do or do not want to tell me, I would appreciate a direct answer either way, so I can at least know where we stand with you.

Yusuke are you asking him if he intends to marry Akira after deflowring him]I will tell you what you need to know, and that is that I have no intention to harm either of you. this certainly is a shovel talk of some variety]Are you still injured?
no subject
Shovel to the head, probably.]Nothing but bruises. Why? Planning to strike me at my weakest? I didn't think you were the type.
[ And he still doesn't, to be honest. But clearly he can't be asking out of concern, so. ]
no subject
[don't die, akechi]
But if that is the extent of the damage, very well. I have no intention of hurting you, and I will only intervene if you and Akira fight again.
no subject
In that case, I don't foresee any more interventions. I hardly think you would have bothered to come this far if you had known the fight was mostly one-sided.
[ He started it, mom!! ]
no subject
Yes. I also know this place makes people behave erratically at times, and that may be in large part to blame for what transpired.
I don't know what will become of us in the future. But if it is a future in which you are no longer hostile toward us, I'd be glad for it.

Why do you want to hear my thoughts, though?
[ That sounds... fishy... ]

Would it be so bad to work with the Phantom Thieves again?

However. As Akira says, it would be advantageous for us to work together for a mutual goal. Wouldn't you agree?
no subject
But I'm not sure that's an answer exactly, so I'll ask again: would it be so bad to work with us? We can... call it a truce.

[you have no sense of aesthetics, akechi!!!]
I suppose your reasoning does have its merits, however... Akira, what are your thoughts?
no subject
